At Hannover Messe 2026, Siemens is presenting the next generation of its Industrial Automation DataCenter, a custom-configured data center for production IT requirements, updated to support AI workloads.
Developed with NVIDIA and Palo Alto Networks, the system includes NVIDIA computing infrastructure at the edge, NVIDIA BlueField data processing units and Palo Alto Networks Prisma AIRS cybersecurity technology.
The system is delivered pre-installed, pre-configured and tested. It combines virtualization for OT applications, backup and restore, data archiving and an industrial demilitarized zone to separate IT and OT networks. The updated platform is intended to support AI computing and cybersecurity at the edge in industrial environments.
Siemens said many industrial companies face challenges when deploying standardized, pre-integrated AI infrastructure because of the time and engineering effort required for integration, installation and system configuration, as well as risks related to compatibility and downtime. The Industrial Automation DataCenter is intended to reduce that complexity by providing a pre-integrated system for production environments.
The platform is designed to host AI applications at the edge using NVIDIA accelerated computing. Siemens cited use cases such as image-based quality control, predictive maintenance and production process optimization. NVIDIA BlueField DPUs handle data processing and security functions at the infrastructure layer, including network visibility, micro-segmentation, zero-trust security and secure networking.
For cybersecurity, Siemens has integrated Palo Alto Networks Prisma AIRS into the platform. Siemens said the technology is intended to help protect AI applications, industrial operations, intellectual property and business continuity. In combination with Prisma AIRS, NVIDIA BlueField can analyze copies of network traffic in real time without altering the data stream, allowing security analysis without affecting latency or network determinism.
Siemens also offers Remote Industrial Operations Services for the Industrial Automation DataCenter. These services include remote monitoring of IT/OT infrastructure, cybersecurity measures, maintenance, preventive actions and incident support. The services are available throughout the lifecycle of the Industrial Automation DataCenter and can also be applied to other IT systems and components in OT environments, including third-party components.
